Polo Bebe
For the water polo player who has everything including a newborn or toddler!
Our new line of bathing suits and caps for tots...
I've been watching water polo for several years... ever since my son had a dream to be on the US Olympic water polo team and I attended many matches in many pools in many cities throughout the US and the world. One thing that always struck me was that it looked like the players, who were playing the toughest sport there is, looked like they were wearing baby bonnets with straps tied under their chins. We're talking about a sport in which the players are swimming 2 to 3 miles in a pool well over their heads, passing and shooting a ball that they can only touch with one hand
Eventually he went on to make the team in 1996 in Atlanta against the odds since water polo is a California dominated sport in this country and we were living in NYC! From there he continued to Sydney in 2000 and to Athens in 2004 as captain of the US Olympic water polo team! In 2008 in Beijing our men's and women's teams both took the silver medals ...so water polo is HOT.
Now he and his teammates are having kids of their own so I decided to design and produce the very suits and caps that looked like baby bonnets for the BABIES themselves. I enlisted my long time designer friend Kathie Keller, who had designed my dress for the first commercial I had ever booked in New York, to make up the first samples and to be my partner. She did a fantastic job and we enjoyed working together to create POLOBEBE a global company born to stylishly dress the budding Michael Phelps' and Dara Torres' and the future water polo champions of the world! The caps work well to protect the babies ears from water splashes, keep their hair out of the way as they learn, and to protect their precious head from the sun outdoors.Visit our home at http://www.polobebe.us/ and choose a pink suit for girls, blue for boys or a red "Beijing Olympics 2008 suit with a panda on it in both boys' and girls' styles. To the future Olympic stars...happy swimming!
